We have an opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer who has a genuine enthusiasm for learning new technologies to join a successful, international organisation. You will be responsible for the hands-on development of web-based applications within an Agile TDD environment, you will be predominatly developing Ruby-on-Rails based applications and you will have the opportunity to utilise other development tools.

You will need to have strong experience of working with Ruby and SQL but above all my client are looking for Software Engineers who are 'adaptable'. Therefore you will need to demonstrate experience of working with a variety of other programming lanuages and a knowledge of the fundamentals of programming to show you have the aptitude to quickly learn new technologies.

Essential:

• At least 5 years development experience, using Ruby plus at least one other programming language
• Strong knowledge and experience of SQL
• A knowledge of the fundamentals of programming, including design patterns and algorithms such as recursion algorithms

Desirable:

• Experience of working within an Agile TDD environment
• A computer science or similar degree
